As a token of Senator William Young's long tenure in congress, President George H.W. Bush presented him with his own personal Timex watch. The gold cased quartz time piece features "George Bush" in gold on its black face and a black leather wrist strap. Although we do not know the exact date Bush gifted the watch, from the accompanying note we do know that the President was pleased to see that Senator Young was still wearing it when he and his wife Beverly visited the White House in January of 1990. The 6 1/4" x 4 1/4" official Presidential note card has a 2-sided hand written note from George Bush thanking the wife of Congressman Bill Young for their visit and specifically mentions the "black Timex" which he had given to her husband as a gift. The note is in fine condition with a small crease in one corner. The president's writing and signature are in bold black marker. Letter of Authentication from PSA/DNA.
