The New York Yankees honored longtime captain Derek Jeter with “Derek Jeter Day” on Sept. 7 of the 2014 season as the soon-to-be Hall of Fame shortstop’s career was winding to a close. Offered is Yankee catcher Austin Romine’s game-used, button-down home jersey and hat from the historic contest against the Royals. The jersey features an intertwined “NY” logo on the left chest in navy blue tackle twill and Romine’s number “63” on the reverse side, also in navy blue tackle twill. The left sleeve of the jersey features a stitched commemorative patch that reads “Derek Jeter” and “New York * Captain * Yankees” to signify the important day. The front left tail of the jersey boasts a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label with “2014” and size “46” tags attached. A New York Yankees inventory tag below reads “0000003896.” The navy blue “New Era” Yankees hat features a white stitched intertwined “NY” logo on the front with commemorative Derek Jeter logo on the side matching the one found on the sleeve of the jersey. The inside of the hat features a “New Era” manufacturer’s label, size “7 ½” tag and “MLB Authentic OFFICIAL ON-FIELD CAP” tag. The game-used items each come with Steiner LOAs and are verified under the MLB Authentication program, numbers “HZ556048” (jersey) and “HZ556579” (hat).
