Edward Barrow, a Major League Baseball manager and executive, is best known for being credited with building the New York Yankee’s era of dominance during the first half of the early 1900s. He was elected into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1953. This Edward Barrow signed letter, featuring Baseball Centennial letterhead dated, “August 7, 1939,” is addressed to a, “Miss Winthrope Weyant,” out of New York City and it thanks her for a walking stick that she had sent to him that once belonged to Jacob Ruppert, owner of the New York Yankees. It also asks Miss Weyant if she, “desires a box for the Armstrong-Ambers boxing show to be held at Yankee Stadium.” This Edward Barrow signed letter is framed and matted measuring 23-3/4 x 19-3/4”. This framed display also includes a photograph of Mr. Barrow and the stamped envelope (also featuring the Baseball Centennial logo on the reverse side) that the letter was mailed in, from the American League Baseball Club of New York offices. This typed letter contains Baseballs Centennial, “1839-1939” logo at the bottom. Item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
