This unique portrait celebrates one of the most unbreakable records in baseball history. As Mantle completes the trademark extended follow-through of his colossal home-run swing, he is constructed entirely from the details of his statistical feat. Not a single outline, contour, shadow, uniform fold, logo or even pinstripe originates from anything other than a relevant letter or number. Each Fall Classic clout has been seamlessly incorporated into the scene with its respective date, side of the plate, stadium, opposing team, opposing pitcher and opposing pitcher's arm. The list begins with "OCTOBER 6, 1952 LH EBBETS FIELD VS. BROOKLYN DODGERS PITCHER BILLY LOES RH" and concludes with "OCTOBER 15, 1964 LH BUSCH STADIUM VS. ST. LOUIS CARDINALS PITCHER BOG GIBSON RH." Included therein are Mantle's '53 grand slam; '56 go-ahead homer in Larsen's perfecto; '63 round-tripper off Koufax; and '64 game-winning walk-off (which also broke Ruth's previous record of 15 HRs). Signed by Duffy, the meticulous creation appears on 16" x 20" Arches Aquarelle Rag paper and is floated within a 24-1/2" x 28-1/2" matted-and-framed presentation.
