Opening Day Auction Closing May 9th

Offered is a rare look into the personal life of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States of America. Eisenhower, a revered five-star Army general during World War II, signed this two-page letter --- presumably to his wife Mamie --- “Ike” in black ink on the final page of the 8x10 ½-inch document. Eisenhower penned the greeting “Darling” to open the letter, which is dated “Sept. 25” in the top right corner of the first page. Eisenhower covers, among other things, his joy that Mamie caught up with some of the couple’s old friends in Denver and how he plans to write his son John a note soon. Both pages feature three horizontal creases from where the pale yellow paper was folded to be placed in an envelope. The pages feature some other minor creasing throughout, but remain in overall strong condition with no tears. The Eisenhower signed letter comes with a PSA/DNA LOA #X03939.
