Quarterback Brian Sipe started 112 games in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns from 1974-83. When Sipe’s time in the league began to wind to a close, he took his talents to the USFL, first with the New Jersey Generals in 1984, then with the Jacksonville Bulls in 1985. It was during his time with Jacksonville that Sipe signed this game-used Bulls helmet. Sipe signed the top front of the helmet in bold, black sharpie along with the inscriptions “All the best” and his “#17.” The silver “Riddell” model helmet with black facemask features a wraparound Bulls logo decal and Sipe’s number “17” also in decal form on the center back. The inside of the fully padded helmet boasts a “Riddell” manufacturer’s label as well as a size “7 ½” decal. The Sipe signed helmet shows heavy signs of game use, with a series of scars and scuffs across the top of the protective headwear. The signed, game-used Sipe helmet comes with MEARS and JSA LOAs.
