If you could gather together all the best sluggers of the early 1930's you'd no doubt end up with the guys found right here on this remarkable signed ball. The usual suspects are here, Babe Ruth (6/10), Lou Gehrig (8/10) and Jimmie Foxx (8/10). Those guys were the Big Three of early 1930's baseball royalty. Joining them are fellow Hall of Famers Al Simmons (7/10), Goose Goslin (6/10), and Gabby Hartnett (7/10). Best of all, the sweet spot has been signed by Hack Wilson (1/10). Wilson's career though brilliant was quite brief. After hitting 59 home runs in 1930 and setting the single season RBI record with 192, his career rapidly declined and he played his last game in 1934. His early death in 1948 makes his signature one of the most difficult 20th Century Hall of Famers to obtain. The other ballplayers on the ball were superstars of the early 1930's in their own right: Chuck Klein (7/10) the 1933 NL Triple Crown Winner, Wally Berger (6/10) the 1935 home run and RBI champ and Lefty O'Doul (8/10) the 2 time NL batting champ with a life time .349 average. The 1928-1933 John Heydler Spalding Official National League Baseball shows good toning from age with some scuffs and staining. A virtual signed ball Who's Who of early 1930's sluggers. Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
