Pee Wee Reese played shortstop for the Brooklyn Dodgers who later became the Los Angeles Dodgers. While with the team he was named to ten All-Star teams and he won two World Series championships. He was named to baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1984 and his player number, “#1” has been retired by the Dodgers franchise. Reese also received much fame for his support of teammate Jackie Robinson who was the first African American baseball player to enter the major leagues. This lot of (3) Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger bats have each been signed by Pee Wee Reese in blue sharpie marker and they each feature the inscription, “HOF 84 #1” written just below his signature. This lot comes with a letter of provenance from Reese’s grandson, Reese Dudgeon. Items each come with a JSA authentication sticker affixed to the bottom of the knob (L92636), (L92637) and (L92638).
