The 1938 football season concluded with a contest between the league champions, the New York Giants, and a team of all-stars selected in fan balloting. In a precursor of what is now known as the Pro Bowl, January 15, 1939, was the date of the contest at California’s Wrigley Field (not Chicago). Included in this lot is a game program (20 pages plus cover) along with two tickets for that historic game, one ticket is a full ticket. The 8x10.5” program is folded down the middle but otherwise in very good condition, and the game’s final score – Giants 13, All Americans 10 – is the only pen marking, written in the center field score grid. The torn stub is from the upper stand (totaling $2.20), while the untorn ticket is in the lower box (at a whopping $3.30). The full ticket has fairly extensive glue and paper marking on the back, likely from display, but both tickets are otherwise in excellent condition.
