This is a rare photographic brooch style pin of President Abraham Lincoln. The pin which measures about 1.375 in diameter hosts a portrait of Abraham Lincoln as photographed by the famous Civil War era photographer Mathew B. Brady. An ornate tarnished gold cord frame surrounds the picture and the back of the pin displays the original paper insert from the manufacturer. Lincoln, best known for overthrowing slavery through the Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment, was the 16th president and first of the Republican Party and was one of the most photographed presidents in history. This historic pin makes a striking display.
