Led by Captain Mark Messier, the 1994 New York Rangers captured the team’s first Stanley Cup in 40 years dating back to 1954. The Rangers also won the NHL’s President’s Trophy posting a league best 52-24-8 record and franchise record 112 points. The television audience of 4.957 million viewers was the highest rated CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) broadcast at the time. Five members of the Rangers Stanley Cup championship team are depicted and signed this 26” x 38” red, white and blue colored canvas in bright silver sharpie including, Messier hoisting the Cup at center with a “94 Cup Champs” inscription, Brian Leetch who added his number “2” and a “94 Stanley Cup Champs,” Stephen Matteau, with his number “32” and “Game Winning Goal, Matteau!
