Not only does this portrait pay tribute to one of the most spectacular athletes in basketball history, but it also honors his status atop two entirely different leagues. Julius Erving first made his name with the New York Nets of the flamboyant ABA, and he is depicted here handling the red, white, and blue ball during his big hair days. He is also shown as the more seasoned member of the Philadelphia 76ers in this terrific piece by sports artist Michael J. Taylor. Measuring 22x30” including frame (which has some light scratching), this beautiful piece was used as cover art for Legends Sports Magazine.
