Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean is photographed with a Hasselblad EDC camera strapped to his space suit while on the surface of the moon displayed on this awesome 19 X 14 cardboard advertising display for Hasselblad camera, circa 1969. Simply stated, the sign reads, “The Astronaut’s saw it. Hasselblad took it.” The depicted image stands out as one of the most renowned from this mission during which Lunar Module Pilot Bean spent more than one day and seven hours on the lunar surface with Mission Commander, Charles “Pete” Conrad whose reflection from having taken this photograph of Bean can be seen on Bean’s helmet visor. The sign was designed as a “standee” to be displayed on a store counter with the easel back attached on verso. On behalf of Hasselblad I can hardly imagine a better product endorsement than being the camera of choice to being taken to the moon during this historic Apollo mission.
