Among the most respected and tragic figures in the team’s long history, Thurman Munson retains a special place in the hearts of New York Yankees fans. When the collection of Thurman Munson was auctioned off years ago, this was the ONLY signed baseball in his collection. We have no idea why he kept this game used baseball. We imagine he recorded some milestone or some special event with the ball, and kept it for sentimental purposes. This lightly soiled OAL (MacPhail) ball is signed in black ink, “Best Wishes Thurman Munson” on a side panel. The only single-signed ball within the Thurman Munson collection, the ball displays some light surface soiling from game use. Includes Letter of Provenance from Diana Munson, the wife of the late catcher, as well as a Letter of Authenticity from JSA. Letter of authenticity from MEARS regarding it's game use included.
