Already a three-time All-Star, three time Silver Slugger Award Winner and American League MVP in just his fourth full big league season at 24 years old, Mike Trout’s brief stint in the minor leagues seems light years away. Trout wore this Akadema AMR34 Professional Model fielder’s glove briefly while he was tearing his way through the Midwest League with the Angels’ Cedar Rapids affiliate (6 HR, 39 RBI and .362 average in 81 games) and Rancho Cucamonga of the California League (4 HR, 19 RBI, .306 in 50 games). Akadema gloves have become popular with many of the game’s rising stars like Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper who can be seen wearing one regularly. The glove offered here appears to have been used only briefly by Trout and could still stand a little breaking in. Two-tone black and gray glove is branded with a “Selected Steerhide” stamp in its pocket and “Akadema Professional” on its heel with its “AMR34” model number and “Precision Series” stamped on the inside pinky. “Akadema” is stitched along the back middle finger in gray lettering and Trout signed this 11” glove in bright silver sharpie on the outside thumb with a “2010 Game Used” inscription. Glove shows only moderate use with some dirt stains on the “Akademe” wrist strap label and comes with Anderson Authentics LOA signed by Trout.
