When the votes were tallied for the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year it was quite anti-climactic - everyone knew Mike Trout was the winner. No rookie since Mickey Mantle came into the league with more expectations - and lived up to them - than Mike Trout. The kid hit .326 and led the league in runs and stolen bases. In any other season Trout would have taken home the AL MVP Award too, but it just so happened 2012 was the year of Miguel Cabrera's Triple Crown. This is one of the bats used by Trout during that exciting rookie campaign. The Old Hickory J143M model bat is untracked and shows excellent use. The barrel contains many ball marks with stitch impressions as well as blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. There is the impression from a weighted batting donut and cleat impressions visible. The lower handle and knob has been wrapped with adhesive tape to enhance the grip and a heavy coat of Mota Stick has been applied in the same area. The bat's length "33.5" is stamped into the barrel band along with the work order "1203120-MT10" which is March 2012, work order 120, Trout's initials and the 10th bat in that order. Also, Trout's initials "MT" and "10" for the bat number has been hand written in pencil on the knob. The greatest rookie to come along in a generation has signed the bat's barrel in silver ink adding "2012 G/U AL ROY". The bat comes with a letter of provenance from Anderson's Authentic’s, which is Trout’s official memorabilia agent, and Letter of Authenticity (1B09363) from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 9.
