Bill Buckner's error led to Ray Knight's glory as the Mets third basemen scored the winning run in that infamous Game 6. Then Game 7 saw Knight break the 3-3 tie with a solo homer in the Mets' dramatic come-from-behind victory, sealed by Jesse Orosco famously striking out the side in the top of the ninth. Knight took World Series MVP honors and the Mets players and staff received stunning showpieces such as this. The Balfour 10K-gold, size 12-1/2 ring exhibits 95 points' worth of total diamonds with a large central diamond seated on a blue stone with a diamond-studded border. Raised-relief shank designs feature the "25th Anniversary" logo and Championship Trophy. Near Mint condition. Accompanied by a 2001 purchase LOA and an elegant wooden presentation box (7-1/2" x 6" x 2", NM) with the frosted Plexiglas lid reading, "NEW YORK METS / WORLD CHAMPIONS 1986."
