Smoltzie was one-third of what may have been the greatest pitching rotation in baseball history. He was a starter along with fellow future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine before he took over as the Braves' top reliever. It was in this position that Smoltze made baseball history by both winning over 200 games and saving more than 150. In 2003, the year this jersey was worn, Smoltze recorded 45 saves with a minuscule 1.12 ERA, numbers that led to his first-ballot election to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015. The grey road jersey features "Atlanta" in script above the famed tomahawk across the front in navy, red and gold tackle twill. Navy and red piping runs around the collar and down the front as well as around the sleeves. Russell label is sewn in the lower left front tail with added size "50 +2" EXTRA LENGTH" tagging. "01-2003" strip tag is sewn below. The back has "Smoltz" in navy tackle twill letters on a grey name plate. Smolz's number "29" is centered on the back in bright red and navy tackle twill. Smoltz has signed just below the "9" in blue Sharpie adding "My 2003 Game Worn Jersey". Overall the jersey shows minimal game use and is in excellent condition. Letter of Authenticity from uniform expert Dave Miedema and PSA/DNA.
