After watching the Philadelphia A’s win the last three AL titles, the 1932 Yankees destroyed the American League in 1932, taking home the pennant by a whopping 13 games! The 1932 Yankees were the last moment of glory for the old Murderer’s Row. Under the able management of Joe McCarthy, the Yanks stormed to the pennant behind the awesome combination of Ruth, Gehrig and Pennock representing the old guard and young Turks Ben Chapman, Lefty Gomez and Frank Crosetti. This volatile mix of old and young proved lethal to the Chicago Cubs whom the Yanks swept in 4 games, the series forever remembered for one of baseball’s greatest moments, Ruth’s called shot.

Offered here is a wonderful multi-signed baseball that has 29 signatures of the 1932 World Champion New York Yankees. Based on two inscriptions on this ball, it appears to have been signed on or about March 24, 1932, just before the start of the 1932 season. Both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig have signed their names on opposite sweet spots, a rarity in of itself. Ruth’s signature has two other unidentified players on the sweet spot with a blue ink line going through the top of his signature. Lou Gehrig’s signature is in bold black pen across the stamped sweet spot and has “March 24, 1932 inscribed below in an unknown hand. Other signatures include Hall of Famers Lefty Gomez, Earl Combs and Bill Dickey, along with Frank Crosetti, Myril Hoag, Lyn Lary, Sam Byrd, Jack Saltzgaver, Ben Chapman and several others. This ball displays toning with many of the signatures light. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
