Cal Ripken, Jr.’s 1,500th consecutive career game was memorable not just for the streak, but also for The Iron Man’s offensive exploits. With his 1,500th career game already in the record books, Cal hit a third inning Rich DeLucia pitch into the stands, making him the eighth player in Major League history to hit 20 or more home runs in his first ten seasons in the bigs. The 2-run homer gave Baltimore the lead which they rode to a 4-1 victory over Seattle. There are Cal’s cleats he wore for that historic game. The Adidas cleats show tremendous game use. There are many scuffs and turf marks visible and the soles and spikes exhibit much wear. Cal has signed the right outside heel in silver marker and inscribed the heel of the left cleat with, “#1500.” These cleats come with a LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. for the game use and signature and a certificate from Beckett Authentication stating they witnessed Cal Ripken, Jr. signing this item.
