One of the most prolific post-season sluggers in history, Albert Pujols is one of only three players to hit three home runs in a single World Series game, turning the trick in Game Three of the 2011 Series on the road against the Rangers. Pujols used this attractive Marucci AP5-M Albert Pujols Custom Cut model during Games 3 through 7 of the 2011 World Series, which includes the Game 3, three-home run game! An MLB Authenticated sticker (FJ66013) is affixed to the barrel, indicating this bat was used by Pujols during Game 2 of the 2011 World Series. However, this is incorrect as a review of game film indicates Marucci bats with a natural barrel and black handle were not used by Pujols until Game 3, then continuing until Game 7. However, films of Game 3 reveal Pujols used this type bat during his tremendous Game 3 MLB record performance when he smashed three home runs in one World Series game. This cupped ended bat exhibits evidence of awesome game use with several ball marks and generous stitch impressions visible on the back barrel, including a superb blue ink transfer. Cleat marks and a weighted donut impression also appear, as does a heavy coat of pine tar on the upper handle and center brand. A visible mark on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat, which became a mandatory marking, per Major League Baseball for all maple bats in 2009. Pujols' number (5), the order date (10/09/11), length (4) and weight (2) are stamped into the knob where a PSA/DNA sticker #1B03029 is also affixed. This bat was used during portions of the last four games of the 2011 World Series, possibly including Game 3 when Albert Pujols performed a feat only two other players in the history of the game, Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson, ever accomplished. That is to hit three home runs in a single World Series game! There is ample video evidence on MLB.com of Pujols using this type bat during that unforgettable Game 3. Comes with full LOA from PSA/DNA with grade of perfect GU-10.
