Two days after hitting his 30th home run of the 1991 season, the first and only time in his Hall of Fame Career, Cal Ripken, Jr. added another home run to his 1991 and career tally when he belted a Greg Swindell pitch in to the left field stands at Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium during the September 21st, 1991 game. Ripken finished the 1991 season with 34 home runs with a .323 average while claiming his first Gold Glove Award. By the end of the season, it was only natural that the O’s Iron Man should have the AL’s MVP Award bestowed upon him as well, the second such honor of his Hall of Fame-bound career. This offered Official American League Bobby Brown stamped baseball was the very ball Ripken hit for his 31st home run of the 1991 season. The home run hit by Ripken also was his 100th RBI of the season and this ball displays outstanding game use that includes a noticeable black marker on the north and east panels. Ripken has signed this ball in blue pen across the sweet spot and the south panel has the inscriptions “HR #31 RBI 100 Sept 21, 1991 Swindell At Cleveland”. This ball comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA will accompany this baseball.
