Colorful first day cover celebrating the new “Centennial of Baseball” 3 cent stamp, 4 of which have been affixed and cancelled. The envelope has a bright Art Deco illustration commemorating Baseball’s 100th anniversary. Directly above in the left corner is the signature of the game’s greatest right-handed pitcher, Walter Johnson. The Big Train was one of the original inductees when the Hall of Fame was founded in 1936 and his signature on the first day cover of the first stamp to commemorate baseball is fitting. The envelope shows the usual light staining and creases from postal delivery and Johnson’s black fountain pen signature is a strong 9/10. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the envelope and graded the signature a Mint 9.
