Jerry Lumpe enjoyed 12 productive seasons as a second baseman in the Big Leagues, winning a World Series with the New York Yankees in 1958 and earning an All-Star nod with the Detroit Tigers in 1964.
This off white, button-down vest-style jersey comes from Jerry Lumpe’s coaching days with the Oakland Athletics. It features “A’s” on the left chest with Lumpe’s number “41” on the right side and back in green-on-yellow tackle twill. His name “Lumpe” appears across the back of the jersey stitched in green tackle twill. The front tail of the jersey features a “McAULIFFE UNIFORM CORP.” manufacturer’s tag with two white strip tags below that read “71” and “44,” indicating the jersey’s year and size. The jersey exhibits evidence of light game use and appears to be all original. The jersey comes with an LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
