Beginning in the late 1950s, Ted Williams was in the latter stages of his Hall of Fame career, but he was already venturing into the business realm, serving as assistant advertising manager for the Moxie Corporation in Boston. The beloved slugger's image graced most advertisements for the soft drink, which was an acquired taste for many. This cardboard cut-out shows the Red Sox star and a bottle with the message: "TED WILLIAMS SAYS- MAKE MINE MOXIE FOR A LIFT... THE HEALTHFUL WAY." The red and yellow sign with standee on the reverse measures 20.5" x 33" and is in GD-VG condition as the result of a complete tear in the lower-right corner that is included here unattached. There are scratches, peeling and discoloration, as well.
