Ron Cey was an offensive force for the Los Angeles Dodgers and later the Chicago Cubs, hitting double-digit home runs every year from 1973 to 1986. Cey helped lead the Dodgers to a World Series title in 1981, earning MVP honors in the six-game win over the New York Yankees.
This gray, button-down Los Angeles Dodgers road jersey was worn by Ron Cey in a 1976 season that saw the third baseman hit .277 with 23 home runs and 80 RBI. “Dodgers” is scripted across the chest, “CEY” across the back and his number “10” below, all in royal blue tackle twill. The number “10” on the front of Cey’s jersey is stitched in red tackle twill. The inside collar of the jersey features a “W.A. Goodman & Sons” manufacturer’s tag with size “42,” which is faded on the “4.” The left sleeve of the jersey features a “National League Centennial” patch that reads “1876-1976.” The top button of the jersey is missing and the rest of the piece shows evidence of light game use. The jersey comes with an LOA from MEARS, grading A9.5.
