After Jesse Owens performed so well at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, he was idolized by many American youth who dreamed of athletic success. Some years later a young Walter Blount (consignor of Lot #1 - the 1956 Jackie Robinson bat) was no different and absolutely knew of and admired Owens' athletic exploits. Walter and his grandfather had the opportunity to encounter Owens during their travels, and obtained this inscribed album page which reads "To Bro Blount Fraternally Yours Jesse Owens." While the page was likely dedicated to Blount's grandfather, it has remained in our consignor's possession since originally obtained. Very nice flowing script Jesse Owens inscription and signature, beautiful in all respects, similar to his four Olympic gold medals and dedicated to one of the early Civil Rights leaders in New York. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA as AUTHENTIC.
