One of a select few Major League baseball players whose names transcend the game, Roberto Clemente is regarded in as much esteem for his humanitarian efforts outside of the baseball arena as he is for anything he accomplished on the playing field.

One of his greatest efforts was working with Eastern Airlines to improve living conditions in various Latin American countries and territories. He continued his humanitarian efforts to the last day of his life, dying in a plane crash while attempting to fly relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua on New Year’s Eve 1972.

Clemente signed this creamy-toned ball Eastern Airlines souvenir ball on the sweet spot in blue ball point pen. The Eastern Airlines logo stamp appears on the north panel. The signature has been graded by PSA/DNA as MINT 9 due to the signatures boldness and near perfect sweet spot location. With the ball grading at 6.5, this signed baseball grades an overall 7.5, Near Mint plus - but presents much nicer. This fascinating late-period Clemente signed humanitarian issued ball is among the last he would have signed in the final year of his career. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA09311).
