During the early days of his big league career Pedro Martinez wore this SSK Dimple II professional model glove. Constructed of fading Dodger blue cowhide this circa 1991 glove exhibits evidence of excessive use and may have traveled through the minors with Pedro who made his big league debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1992. With the exception of new black and blue rawhide laces every square inch of the glove reveals heavy wear. The glove’s namesake “dimple” pocket has had much of its original blue color pounded out of it although the interior of the laced basket web still retains most of its blue hue. Conventional wrist strap contains original manufacturer’s label but the fleece lining has been replaced. Black piping along the wrist strap, heel and bottom of fingers has also been restored. Circular thumb logo is no longer discernable but “Pedro Martinez” original facsimile signature in frayed red-stitching remains mostly legible.
A true period piece from Pedro’s formative years comes with PSA/DNA LOA.
