Amazingly, as a player Yogi Berra was an 18-time All-Star and 10-time World Series champion. He is one of only five players to win the American League Most Valuable Player Award three times and is considered by many to be among the greatest catchers in baseball history. Post playing years, Berra was one of only seven managers to lead both American and National League teams to the World Series. Collectively, as a player, coach, or manager, Berra appeared in 21 World Series and won 13 of them. It is little wonder that Berra was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.

The watch offered here was presented to Berra in 1954 by Look magazine. Look honored America’s top players in those years by including them in their “All America Baseball Team.” Berra was an easy selection that year as he batted .307 with 22 home runs and 125 RBIs en route to his second of three American League MVP awards.

The gold watch, made by Lord Elgin, is 1 ¼ inches in diameter and has “LARRY BERRA -1954- ALL AMERICA BASEBALL - LOOK” engraved on the back. The front of this watch features a baseball diamond with the typical 3, 6, 9 and 12 being represented by bases and the face of the watch is accompanied by a band made of brown leather.
