Jeter served as a tremendous asset to the Yankees during their incredible success in the late 1990s and early 2000’s. Jeter was a five-time World Series Champion, a 14-time All-Star, a five-time Gold Glove Award winner, and had reached 3,000 career hits among many other accomplishments. This ball was to be used in Jeter’s last home game against the Baltimore Orioles, a game in which he would have the game winning walk-off hit, beating them 6-5.
