The Detroit Tigers rode a 90-win regular season to a first place pennant in the American League’s Central Division. Alex Avila was a major part of that run, banging out 11 homers while backstopping 124 games for Detroit. This post season catcher’s helmet was made for Avila and was worn for the first two games of the American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. The helmet has the old style English “D” in orange on the front and Avila’s “13” and the “MLB Postseason” stickers are affixed the back of the helmet. The helmet shows light use, which is consistent with short series won by the Orioles in three games. This helmet comes with a full LOA from JT Sports.
