On the heels of winning his 2008 world championship ring (offered adjacently), Romero endured a rocky 2009 that began with a 50-game suspension for ingesting an over-the-counter GNC supplement. He was plagued by a torn flexor tendon the rest of the season and ultimately was unable to repeat his World Series heroics, instead having surgery in October. But he nonetheless received this still-much-deserved NL championship ring as a key member of the Phils' back-to-back pennant-winning squad.
A hefty, substantial showpiece, the 14K-white-gold, size 9 ring features a bed of diamonds, then diamonds for the bases and rubies for the base paths, plus diamonds for the "00" in "2009." Manufactured by Herff Jones, the ring rates Near Mint condition and is accompanied by an elegant "Philadelphia Phillies 2009 National League Champions" wooden presentation box, nicely autographed on the reverse, "J.C. Romero #16." Comes with LOA from Romero.
