There weren’t many tougher outs in the entire AL than the Twins Kirby Puckett. Five of his 11 big league seasons saw him tops in hits and 1995 was looking like it was going to be another when his jaw was shattered by a Dennis Martinez fastball. Puckett was tearing up the spring training pitching at a .344 clip when he woke up with out sight in one eye. A series of operations failed to restore his sight and his career numbers were frozen – a career ended prematurely but epic enough for a Hall of Fame plaque. Puckett’s last season Louisville Slugger P116 model bat is un-cracked and shows outstanding use. The barrel has many ball marks with stitch impressions along with white leather ball scuffs and blue ink transfers. There are many cleat imprints visible and a moderate coat of pine tar is found on the handle. Puckett's number "34" is hand written on both the knob and barrel end in silver marker. Best of all, the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in silver pen, adding "#34". PSA/DNA have awarded their bat a perfect grade of GU 10 (1B06497).
