The late Tony Gwynn, an eight-time NL batting champion who earned 15 All-Star nominations and five Gold Glove awards, was an easy choice as a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 2007. Gwynn, a career .338 hitter, sported this navy blue San Diego Padres undershirt during his illustrious 20-year career with the franchise. To meet Gwynn’s specifications, the sleeves have been cut off the shirt, which boasts a “Majestic Authentic Collection” tag on the front left tail. Gwynn’s number “19” is written in black sharpie on the manufacturer’s label. The front of the shirt reads “SAN DIEGO PADRES BASEBALL” across the chest with a “Majestic/MLBP 2000” notation below, indicating that the shirt was possibly worn by Gwynn during the 2000 season, his next to last in the league. A label on the inside collar also has been removed from the game-used undershirt, which comes with an LOA from Tony Gwynn’s Milestone Collection.
