Just after their seven-game loss to Brooklyn in the 1955 World Series, Casey Stengel took his boys across the ocean to Japan. The Major Leagues had recently begun the tradition of sending a complete team to Japan every winter on a good-will tour. With the exception of Phil Rizzuto, the entire team went over for the six week tour. 64,000 Japanese fans turned out alongside homesick U.S. troops as the Yankees won their first game against a combined Japanese pro all-star team and then proceeded to win 23 more and tie one without a loss. 25 members of that undefeated team are found on this Japanese-made Isono baseball. Casey Stengel signed the sweet spot followed by Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra ("Yogi" is traced over in an unknown hand), Whitey Ford, Bill Skowron, Bob Turley, Ed Robinson, Bob Wiesler, Frank Leja, Andy Carey, Tommy Byrne, Gil McDougald, Jim Konstanty, Bob Grim, Elston Howard, Tom Sturdivant, Don Larson, Johnny Kucks, Irv Noren, Charlie Silvera, Hank Bauer, Jerry Coleman, coaches Bill Dickey and Jim Turner and one illegible. The signatures are in blue ball point and grade from 6-9/10. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
