Arguably, one of the most dominant pitchers of all-time, Hall of Famer Bob Gibson earned his first 20th win on October 3, 1965 as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Houston Astros during the Astrodome’s inaugural season. Gibson signed his name on one of the panels and the line score of the game runs along the same panel. There are many detailed game inscriptions on the adjacent panel that include: “#20 VICTORY GIBSON VS SEMBERA [SL01] Dierker, Cuellar, Von Hoff SO – Gibson – 4 BB – Gibson – 1 R-ER – Gibson – 2-2 T – 1:54 A – 13,535”. Another panel has the following inscription “RBIs Buchek – 2 Gigliano, Maxvils 2BH – Brock, (Morgan) SB – Brock SF – Sambera DP – Cards -3 LOB – Astros – 6 Cards – 7 D – Oct. – 3 – 1965 congratulations and splendid work – A job well done.” This item comes with a full LOA from Mears for its game use and a LOA from JSA for Gibson’s signature.
