The Orioles were in DC playing the Nationals on May 27, 2013 when Chris Davis hit a broken-bat single off Giovany Gonzalez in the top of the fifth. Besides this single, Davis had previously used this stick to hit his home runs 14, 15 and 16 of the 2013 season. These homers contributed to the club record 53 that the Orioles would hit that summer. Davis' Louisville Slugger M356 model bat displays outstanding use and has been cracked. Many ball marks and stitch impressions are visible along with cleat imprints and blue ink transfers. There is a moderate coat of Mota Stick on the lower handle and a moderate coat of pine tar above that. The date of manufacture "03/26/13", length "34.0" and weight "31.0" are stamped into the knob end. The Orioles slugger has signed the bat's barrel in blue marker and inscribed it with "Game Used 2013 HR 14, 15 & 16". Letter of Authenticity from MLB (EK720229) and PSA/DNA who have graded this home run bat a GU 9.
