In his second season in the majors, Bernie Williams was still looking to make a place for himself on a Yankees club loaded with veterans. The outfielder got into 62 games throughout the '92 season and his .280 average showed the Yanks he was ready for an everyday spot in the lineup. This bat comes from the Milwaukee Brewers visiting clubhouse manager who obtained it from Williams during that 1992 season that Bernie used to prove he was ready to wear the pinstripes full-time. The Louisville Slugger T141 model bat matches an order of 12 placed by Williams on March 31, 1992. The bat displays heavy use with a 7" crack along the back of the barrel. There are many ball marks and stitch impressions visible along with cleat imprints and bat rack paint streaks. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and the barrel shows some checking from repeated ball contact. Williams' initials "BW" have been hand written in black marker on the knob end. Letter of Authenticity (308991) from the bat experts at MEARS who have examined this bat and given it a grade of A9.
