Led by Rich Dauer, Ken Huizenga, Ed Putnam, Randy Scarbery, Roy Smalley and Fred Lynn (in his final year), Rod Dedeaux's Trojans captured their fourth of an incredible five consecutive national titles with a championship-game win over the ASU Sun Devils. This Balfour 10K-gold, size 11 ring features CZ stones and a gold "USC" inlaid in a red stone, along with shank designs of a raised-relief Trojan logo and beautiful red-enamel "SC" and "70-71-72-73" emblems. Striking NM condition. Accompanied by a Balfour box and Ward's own 1997 LOA stating, "This is a 10K gold ring containing a CZ which was awarded to James F. Ward who was an outfielder on their 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973 championship teams."
