Alex Rodriguez has had what can only be termed a controversial career, but his talent on the field has never been in question. After a tumultuous career arc that saw him go from winning 3 MVP awards in 5 years to a full season suspension in 2014, A-Rod has returned in 2015 with something to prove. And prove it he has, posting a 30-HR season for the 15th time in his career. And while he is clearly on the downside of his playing days, he has reached the point where the most significant milestones are all within reach. On June 19th, 2015, he achieved one of those milestones, becoming the 29th player in league history to reach the 3,000 hit plateaus. In the process, Rodriguez became only the third player to ever hit a home run as his 3,000th hit.
This is the game-used Lineup Card from that game, used by the Detroit Tigers to track lineup changes during the game. The lineup card reads”Detroit Tigers at New York Yankees, Yankee Stadium * Bronx, NY * June 19th, 2015”, and lists the starting lineups, available position players and available pitchers for both teams. The bottom of the card is signed by Tigers manager Brad Ausmus, as is customary at the Major League level. The lineup card comes with an MLB Hologram Authentication sticker in the upper right corner, along with a Certificate of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
