After being under appreciated by the Twins and insulted by the ownership, Rod Carew found a second career with the California Angels. Upon joining the team in 1979, the first baseman quickly became one of the most beloved players in the history of the Angels franchise and his average never dipped below .280 for the remained of his career. This Adirondack 381B model bat used during the '81 season shows medium use with a handle crack. There is checking on the back barrel from repeated ball contact and the handle has been taped. The production code "092 1" is stamped into the knob end. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker adding "3053". Letter of Authenticity from MEARS.
