The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. inducted its first class in 1959, but it did not have a building to call home until 1968. Over the next 17 years the Hall of Fame operated at Springfield College, where it proved to be far more popular than anticipated. As a result, a new facility was constructed, and on June 30, 1985, the new Basketball Hall of Fame was dedicated. 1985 would mark another watershed moment for the Hall, as this was the first year women were included as part of the induction class. This print commemorates the dedication of what at the time was the new Basketball Hall of Fame (although it has since been replaced by an even larger facility). The print is a B&W rendering of the building, and has been signed by 25 inductees into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Signatures included are: John Kundla, Anne Donovan, Ben Carnevale, Bob Kurland, Bob Wanzer, Boris Sytankovich, Buddy Jeannette, Carol Blazeoski, Cliff Hagan, Connie Hawkins, David Thompson, Dick McGuire, Dolph Schayes, Gail Goodrich, George Yardley, Harry Gallatin, Jack Ramsey, John McClendon, Les Harrison, Nancy Lieberman Kline, Pop Gates, Ralph Miller, Ray Meyers, Stan Watts and Tom Heinsohn. Print is accompanied by an Auction Letter from JSA.
