Offered here are 5 Ohio State University football related items, all tied to Buckeye legend Fred ‘Curly’ Morrison. First is a red wool Ohio State Blanket, embroidered in one corner with “Fred Morrison Football 1949”. The blanket sports a grey “O” in the center that has been signed “Fred ‘Curly’ Morrison”, and inscribed “1950 Rose Bowl MVP”. Also included are 2 sweaters, a grey partial-zip front that reads OHIO STATE in red, and a red pullover sweater with a simple grey O on the chest. Both sweaters are signed Fred ’Curly’ Morrison” and inscribed “1950 Rose Bowl MVP”. The final 2 pieces in this lot were given to Curly by former OSU Head Coach Jim Tressel for speaking to his team before the 2010 Rose Bowl where he reportedly told the Buckeyes "Football is a sport of we not me. This is your day-this is your shot". First is a Wilson NCAA 1-panel autograph football commemorating the Buckeye’s 2010 Rose Bowl victory over Oregon. The white panel has been inscribed and signed “Curley, Go Bucks! Jim Tressel”. Lastly, we have a handwritten note, on OSU stationery, which reads “Curley, Thanks so much for making a difference for your Buckeyes! Yea Ohio!” This note is also signed by Jim Tressel. Tressel was presenting Curly with a game ball and thanking him for his speech prior to the Rose Bowl. All 5 of these items come with a JSA Auction LOA. Altogether a unique assortment of collectibles that speaks to Curly Morrison’s impact on the Ohio State Buckeyes football program.
