"El Señor" has gone down in history as one of the game's finest catchers. Unfortunately for Lopez, his career was spent entirely with second-rate clubs: in 1937, the season this bat dates to, the catcher was with the Boston Braves. A respected student of the game, Lopez went on to manage for 15 seasons in the big leagues, never once finishing with a losing record. The very model of a modern catcher, Lopez was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1977. The Hillerich & Bradsby bat displays heavy use with a handle crack and checking on the back barrel.
