This official USA track singlet is authentic U.S. team issue for the 1976 Olympic Games, comprised of a red, state-of-the-art “Ventex” knit body, with white-and-blue-knit accents. Its design is unique to the 1976 Olympiad. Screened across the front is “U.S.A.”, powerful in its simplicity. Produced by Adidas (1970s leader in running/track gear!), this important singlet retains the original manufacturer’s label in the collar. Among the most significant events to take place during these historic Games is the gold-medal performance of American Bruce Jenner in the Decathlon. Images captured of Jenner throughout the Decathlon’s 10 individual events picture him wearing this very style singlet (an autographed photo of Jenner wearing such accompanies this lot – PSA/DNA Sticker Only). His celebrated Olympic victory spawned a career in endorsements & television, taking unusual twists that continue to keep Jenner in the public eye.
