Numbered “172”. With full English Translation. File hole and paper loss at blank left edge. Fine Condition.
Headed “Higher Government Telegram/Volsk Bolshevik Cement Plat to Grinev/ Saratov Party Regional Committee to Komarov/ Saratov to the Head of the Ryazan-Ural Railroad Shmelev.” In full, “A shortage of cement is delaying the work associated with the Kramatorsk plants. I request that you ensure the shipment of the Narkomstroy March plan figure of twenty carloads of cement, railroad Kramatorsk station, recipient Donmashstroy OSMCh. Advise of execution.”
In 1941, the German Army took over the Kramators plant which had made heavy machinery for Russia’s iron and steel industry. The Germans used the plant to repair and produce tanks and other heavy equipment. The plant employed 2,000 Russian workers under the supervision of the Krupp Company.
