1) Souvenir Card Signed by Moonwalkers "Neil Armstrong," " M. Collins," "A.L. Bean," and "Charlie Duke," Project Mercury astronauts "John Glenn," "D.K. Slayton," and "Wally Schirra," Apollo astronauts "Ken Mattingly," "Fred Haise," "Jack Swigert," "Vance Brand," and "Frank Borman," Shuttle astronauts "Gordon Fullerton," "Hank Hartsfield," "Paul Weitz," "Karl G. Henize," "Jack Lousma," "Joe Allen," Joe Engle," and "Bob Crippen," and scientist-astronaut "Phil Chapman." Many of the astronauts who signed also flew in other space programs as well.
This Souvenir Card was issued by INTERPEX '71, the 13th International Stamp Exhibition held in 1971 in New York City, SCCS Catalogue #B-009. Printed by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, a block of four 4¢ Project Mercury Commemorative Stamps are affixed, captioned, in part, "The vignette depicted is that created for the 4¢ Project Mercury Commemorative postage stamps, Series 1962, and is reproduced in the actual colors of the issue. That stamp, with no advance notice of its contemplated issuance, was printed by the Bureau under the most confidential security conditions and was released simultaneously with the announcement of the eventful completion of astronaut John Glenn's historic flight …"
An Autopen signature of Alan Shepard has been professionally and expertly removed from the now blank area between Glenn and Borman's autographs and is imperceptible. It is a perfect spot for a collector to have Buzz Aldrin sign there, completing the Apollo 11 first Moon landing crew of Armstrong, Collins, and Aldrin.
