Rocky Marciano Signed and Possibly Used Boxing Glove (JSA)

Rocky Marciano is considered one of the greatest Heavyweight boxers to ever enter the ring, and the only Heavyweight to retire from the sport undefeated. After defeating Jersey Joe Walcott to win the Heavyweight title in 1952, Marciano went on to successfully defend his title 6 times before retiring in 1955, at the age of 32, with an unblemished 49-0 record (43 by KO). As with so many tragic sports figures, Marciano’s life was cut short in a plane crash the evening before his 46th birthday. Manufactured by Benlee Sporting Goods, this brown leather glove is left handed. Rocky Marciano has signed across the front of the glove in black steel tip fountain pen. Glove shows significant usage with some cracks in the leather where Marciano signed, however without a letter of provenance we cannot attribute it to Marciano. Item is accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
