The hiatus did not affect his play however, and in his 1st season back “Stan the Man” won his 2nd of 3 NL MVP Awards. Considered one of the greatest hitters in baseball history and the most consistent hitter of his era, Musial is a high-ranking member of the 3,000 hit club (his 3,630 puts him 4th all-time). He is also a 20-time All-Star with 3 World Series Rings and the aforementioned 3 NL MVP trophies.
